"Mexican Butterflies" is an original painting by Irene Chavez done with acrylic paint on a 12" x 12" stretched canvas. This painting represents the freedom of immigrants. Irene grew up under the DACA program and always felt trapped with rules and boundaries. It wasn't until she became an adult when she realized that being under the DACA program was actually a privilege and that not everyone was blessed with this opportunity as she was. The writing "Always Dreaming" and "Dream Big" meant that no matter the restrictions and boundaries being an immigrant would set she is never going to give up on her dreams.
